‘Ol Faithful served me for alotta years. I sold ‘er today. It was hard to see her go.
It’s time to move on to bigger and better things. (I use that phrase only in part)

My 1987 Mercedes 300e: my first car. On more than one occasion (usually when I was under the hood) I thought it would be the end of me. But that steady lil silver bullet is in better hands now: not mine.
You could say this car was there at the birth of this Drifter. Just over 3 years ago, two of my best friends flew to Florida (where I was living) and spent the week with me. After those few days were done, we got in ‘Ol Faithful and began our trek to the West Coast.
I’ve decided I might write a couple stories from that trip, in honor of today… be looking for those to come
It’s a bittersweet day for me. And that’s alright. Good bye, ‘Ol Faithful. We had a good ride.

That’s so sweet and sentimental
Love that you have good memories from her.
I’m leaving in like, 2 days so if I don’t talk to you until then.. bye bye Chase!!
ah! That’s soon! We’ll touch base before you ship out
I definitely remember this car!! glad to see it served you so well
It was time. It was a great car, fit you very well, but it needed to move on in the last years of it’s life.
…curious to see what comes along your way next.
Ohh.. I can never let go of things I have a sentimental attachment to. It’s a good thing I don’t drive because if I did every car I ever owned would be gathering rust in the back garden eventually. I would become the not-so-proud owner of a scrap yard!
What are you trading her in for?
so, what’s next on the car[d]s for you?
my first car survived the outback, hit [and killed] a goat, and then decided to roll a time or two with me in it. i was still sad to see it go. i think the goat was glad.
Moped! Awesome. You at least have the weather to support having one of those year round.
My first car is still kicking, with my dad driving it back and forth from work, back in Sioux Falls. It was a little white Honda stick shift, and I love the thing. I get to go home next week and drive her again, and I am stoked. There’s nothing like the first car, y’know.
Is it really being replaced by a moped? Because that is pretty legit ha ha.
My brother has my old car so I get to see the old Jetta every time I head home. But I know what you mean with the sentimentality that comes with a first car.. I will look forward to the stories to come.
Best,
Hannah Katy
